Capacity

Committed to diversity and inclusion

  • For people with a refugee or migrant background in Switzerland

  • In collaboration with socially responsible companies

Our programmes are designed to support people with refugee and migrant backgrounds to independently shape their social and professional future in Switzerland. Our commitment is geared towards unlocking the skills and potential of our programme participants and fostering a sense of belonging.

In the execution of our projects, we build a bridge between people with refugee or migrant experience and socially responsible companies, along with their employees who engage as volunteers. This promotes mutual interaction and cooperation and socially responsible companies, serving as a cornerstone for an inclusive society.

Our vision encompasses a society that embraces diversity as a source of strength, where individuals can contribute their skills and potential, irrespective of gender, nationality, religion, race, or socio-economic background.

Our commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

Aligned with the 2030 Agenda and its overarching principle of “leave no one behind,” all UN member states, including Switzerland, have pledged to accomplish the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030. These goals target marginalised and discriminated population groups, aiming to foster a fairer, healthier, more peaceful, and socially inclusive world.

This principle of inclusivity guides Capacity’s efforts as well. Our commitment actively contributes to the realisation of the following SDGs:

Our programs aim to promote the talents of refugees and migrants, empowering them to generate the income and resources needed for a sustainable future in Switzerland.

Our projects offer inclusive education and advocate for lifelong learning opportunities for all. We strive to make a meaningful impact on our target groups, contributing to the advancement of a more equitable world.

Our projects support women with refugee or migrant backgrounds to pursue self-determination, whether through professional integration or entrepreneurship.

Sustainable Development Goals 8 - Decent Work and Economic Growth

Our projects ensure that the valuable human capital of individuals with refugee or immigrant backgrounds is no longer overlooked in society but is instead recognized and utilised to its fullest potential.

Sustainable Development Goals 10 - Reduced inequalities

Irrespective of gender, disability, race, ethnicity, origin, religion, or status, we promote social and economic inclusion of refugees and migrants in Switzerland.

We foster inclusivity by implementing guidelines for inclusive behavior and language. We extend our expertise to partners and their employees through training sessions, focusing especially on gender- and migration-specific experiences.
